Forrester’s FAQ
WHat do you enjoy most about ux?
While many folks enjoy user experience for either it’s design or research opportunities, I simply enjoy that UX challenges me to think systematically about the impact of how a given solution might affect its’ target market.
What hobbies do you have when you’re not UX’ing.
In the time that I’m not working on design projects, I am often working to grow my own business where I produce branded custom printed LEGO figurines for companies to give out to their employees. I have completed projects for brands such as Pagerduty, Microsoft, Proofpoint, Jabra Headphones, and a division of Homeland Security in Pennsylvania.
What would you consider your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
Personally, I would have to say my biggest weakness is that I can often be my biggest critic. I try to hold myself to a high standard and sometimes that can work against me. However, I am continuously working to mitigate this by learning to ask others for their input when I am overcritical of my own work.
Conversely, my biggest strengths are that I work very well under pressure and I can effectively think analytically on projects in various working conditions.
What would be your dream ux project
From the start of my UX career, I’ve always aspired to worked on a project where I am able to start with a bare bones system that is failing and turn it into a fully gamified experience. I have done a few projects that are gamification oriented, but they have all revolved around an app interface. So, it would be a great challenge to design an analog gamified experience.
